Cacao paste

Our cacao paste is made from a single ingredient, organic cacao beans, that are minimally processed and directly and ethically traded with small farmers from indigenous communities from Tabasco and Chiapas, in Mexico.

It can be 100% cacao or also made with added salt, sugar and/or cinnamon. It can also be made of Almendra Blanca beans (prior order).

It keeps for a year when stored in a cool dark place and much longer if stored in a freezer.

Uses

Ceremonial cacao

Most people might think of cacao as a candy, but for us, it is a medicine. A medicine made with the upmost reverence to the ancient people who have cultivated it for generations.

Cacao ceremonies are a ritual that help get in touch with your heart and inner energy through the consumption of cacao. They have been growing in popularity because they are a great opportunity for people to connect with each other and even reconnect with ancient parts of ourselves. These ceremonies can help people set intentions and get
clarity all while they do inner healing and processing work.
Cacao is a natural way to bring about stress relief because its potassium, phosphorus, copper, iron, zinc and magnesium contents contribute to cardiovascular health. It also has the ability to trigger the release of dopamine and endorphins, both of which can help to lessen the symptoms of premenstrual syndrome and depression.

A truly ceremonial cacao is harvested from an agroforestry environment where the beans not only contain the flavors of the terrain but also the energy and vibration of the community and the surroundings. Most cacao is currently produced through farmer exploitation with single-crop trees that deteriorate the quality of the soil. All of this is done at the expense of the jungle around the plantations.
